NEW BODY GASKET FOR JC BALL VALVES SERIES SFF SUITABLE FOR CHEMICAL, FOOD AND GENERAL INDUSTRIES

There are some fluids that are not compatible with graphite but must be controlled by Fire-Safe valves.

In order to avoid the contact of the fluid with the graphite packing, JC has standardized some months ago an additional o-ring in the stem, between the body to stem primary Glass Filled PTFE gasket and the packing. The next goal was to isolate the graphite filler of the spiral wound body gasket from the fluid.

During the last few months, our technical and R+D teams have developed and tested, together with the prestigious Universitat de Barcelona, a state-of-the-art spiral wound gasket with an inner primary filler in PTFE and an outer filler in graphite.

Every prototype gasket for valves from DN 15 (1/2”) up to DN 300 (12”) has been Helium tested at ambient and elevated temperature (260ºC) and, significant prototypes, tested also at low temperature (minus 50ºC) and also Fire Safe tested according to ISO 10947:2004.
